Sensitive Skin Treatment

The sensitive skin treatment is a challenge, because a sensitivity in one case might not be caused by the same reason as the other.
So far there are four sub-types of this problem. Its four sub-types are acne sensitive skin, rosacea, burning and stinging skin, and Dermatitis.

Sensitive skin: The types

The first type is acne sensitive skin treatment, which is prone to pimples (the red bumps), comedones, redness and inflammation. The breakouts of acne may be caused by various skin care and hair products, with ingredients such as coconut oil and other oils, Shea butter (which is very popular), and many other common ingredients.

Rosacea is a skin condition that is diagnosed solely by dermatologists. It is characterized by flushing, papules, irregular skin in some arias, and many more. This website doesn't deal with this kind of skin problem, because it is treated effectively with prescription medicine and can be diagnosed only by a doctor.

Burning and stinging skin is a third subtype of sensitive skin, which is not characterized by visible inflammation, red bumps etc. but just by feeling of pain or itching. If your skin suddenly itches after using a skin product or homemade facial mask, you might have sensitivity to one of its ingredients. Even the organic component can cause you a sting or an itchy feeling.

What are the allergens, which can cause you stinging?

It can be peppermint, ingredients with acidic vitamin c, salicylic acid, alcohol, alpha hydroxy acids and many more. You should get your skin tested if you have sensitivity or allergy of your skin epidermis to any material, even the one not listed above.

The allergen can be in your skin care cream, facial mask, shampoo, sunscreen, soap, and so on. It's not very easy to spot the allergy all by yourself - dermatological test is needed to determine what exactly are you allergic to.

The fourth type of sensitive skin is contact dermatitis, which is an inflammation that occurs after the skin contacts an allergen. This subtype of skin sensitivity can arise because of being allergic to cosmetics, skin care and hair care substances. At this case the allergy is shown very clearly by local redness or red bumps.

The sensitive skin type might have two sub-types: For example, acne prone skin might also have contact dermatitis, which means it can have a rash because of certain moisturizer ingredients and suffer from periodical acne outbreaks. Certified dermatological treatment is the best while dealing with sensitive type of skin, because it’s not easy which skin problem you might actually have and which treatment fits your condition.

First of all, it is important to identify the materials that cause you an allergy. Additionally, for second to fourth sensitive skin types, avoid chemical peels and acidic homemade facial masks. This is because your skin barrier might be much weaker than it should, so avoiding skin exfoliation completely is the best choice for you.

For everyday nutritional treatment: Don’t eat junk food, especially the greasy ones and avoid foods with preservatives in them. Some conditions like Rosacea are stimulated by spicy foods and alcohol beverages.

Do have a balanced diet with antioxidants; which are included in fruits, vegetables, nuts, olive and seed oils (the non-heated oils).

In homemade facial mask recipes: Anti - inflammatory ingredients, like green tea, sage, chamomile might help the skin condition. In any case, use only organic skin care products, without preservatives or allergy-stimulation fragrances.
